Christmas is a special time in Vienna and in the four weeks leading to Christmas much of the city’s deeply-rooted Christmas traditions are played out in the living rooms and kitchens of homes and in colourful events around the city.

Christmas markets are a a long-standing Austrian tradition as are the  famous Vienna classical concerts.  At Christmas time the city’s churches and concert halls put on the best of their Advent concerts.

Dec.15 & 19 only	Minoritenkirche: ‘Trumpets in Concert – A Very Special Christmas’ Trumpet players Martin Angerer, Manuel Lichtenwöhrer, and Leonhard Leeb perform famous Christmas compositions at this festive concert at the Minoritenkirche church in Vienna.
Dec. 25 – Dec. 30	Wiener Hofburg Orchester What could be grander than an evening of music in the Vienna Imperial Palace.  The Wiener Hofburg Orchester presents concerts featuring famous and beloved compositions by the “King of Waltz” Johann Strauss and arias and duets from the operas of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
Dec. 24 – Dec. 30	Wiener Kursalon – Christmas Concert and Dinner Enjoy the festive season at a Strauss & Mozart Christmas concert of the “Salonorchester Alt Wien” in the beautiful surroundings of the Kursalon Vienna.
