Troyes, the old political capital of Champagne, isn’t really shaped like a champagne cork - well, not as far as we could see from ground level. I reckon the description was the figment of some tourist marketing person's over-fertile imagination. Nevertheless the old town is certainly worth visiting, with many 15th century buildings - some containing very 21st century restaurants.
