Fresh Air 2011 is an Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition in the Cotsworlds:
For those who enjoy contemporary sculptures, Fresh Air 2011 is a unique opportunity to see (and buy) cutting-edge sculptures in the outdoor. Visitors to Fresh Air 2011 will be able to see around 200 works by 100 sculptors working in bronze, glass, stainless steel, stone, ceramic, marble, wood, fabric, plastic, resin and multimedia.
Fresh Air 2011, the 10th staging of this biennial event, takes place in Cirencester from June 19 to July 10, 2011. This outdoor exhibition takes place at the Quenington Old Rectory, the Cotswold home of art collectors Lucy and David Abel Smith.
The picturesque garden of this Cotswold home is bordered by Quenington Village, mature trees and the river Coln. For this year’s exhibition, six artists will make site-specific installations among the trees and flowerbeds, and in the river.
Some of the exhibiting artists include Carole Andrews, Claudia Borgna, Marigold Hodgkinson, Michael Branthwaite, Ruth Moilliet and Wendy Hoare. All the sculptures at the show will be for sale. The prices will mainly range from £100 to £15,000, although some pieces may be priced up to £35,000. Catalogues will be for sale at £5.
This year’s exhibition will be open daily from 10am–5pm from 19 June to July 10. Admission £2.50p adults, under-19s free. On Sunday June 26, there will be an entry charge of £4 in aid of the National Gardens Scheme.
