How to Get to Sorrento by Bus, Boat, Train and Plane:
Sorrento is in the Campania region in southern Italy, about 210 km south of Rome. With its cliff-top resorts and luxury hotels, this small tourist town is a good base from which to explore the Amalfi Coast, Capri and the ancient city of Pompeii.

By Train
Trenitalia connects travellers from various Italian cities to Napoli Centrale (Naples main station) and from there the Circumvesuviana train service connects Naples with Sorrento. Service frequency is 30 minutes and travel time from Napoli Centrale to Sorrento is about 80 minutes. The Circumvesuviana train station is conveniently located on a lower level of the Trenitalia train station building in Naples. For timetable and costs see their website www.vesuviana.it.
By Air
Naples International Airport (Aeroporto Internazionale di Napoli) is the main airport for the Campania region.
- Curreri Viaggi is the company that runs regular bus services from Napoli Airport to Sorrento (Piazzo Tasso). The journey time is 1 hr 15 mins and the fare is €10 (2013) for a one-way trip. For timetable and further information, see their website www.curreriviaggi.it.

By Boat
There are daily boat services from Naples port to Sorrento. Currently the two companies that operate services between Napoli Beverello and Sorrento are Alilauro and Gescab. The boat ride takes 35 minutes. For timetable and costs, see their websites www.alilauro.it or www.gescab.it.
If you are staying in Positano, there are regular ferry services to Sorrento during the summer months. Just go to the ferry pier and buy your ticket from the booth – no reservations required.
By Bus
From Rome – Marozzi runs a daily bus service from Rome Tiburtina station to Sorrento. There are two or three departures per day, depending on the time of year. From Amalfi – The SITA bus company runs regular services between Amalfi and Sorrento. For updated timetables, see the SITA Sud website at www.sitasudtrasporti.it. Look for the PDFs under Campania.
