Unfortunately, HMS Belfast is currently closed and will not be reopening until after Easter 2012. HMS Belfast is closed because in November 2011 a pedestrian walkway from the embankment onto the ship suddenly collapsed into the Thames, injuring two men. Definitely worth it when it re-opens, though.

The fastest and cheapest way is by train, but unfortunately, there is no direct train from Gatwick to Woking. You can get any train from Gatwick into London that stops at Clapham Junction. From Clapham Junction there are 4 or 5 trains an hour to Woking.

The first link below gives an idea of the National Rail timetable from Gatwick to Woking. The second link gives an idea of what Clapham Junction platforms are like and the number of steps for each platform. There does not appear to be any elevators so please consider if the steps are manageable.

There is also a train from Gatwick to Reading that stops at Guildford about 4-5 miles from Woking. There are frequent trains between Guildford and Woking or perhaps catch a taxi from there.
