HAMPTON COURT FLOWER SHOW: THE UK’S LARGEST FLOWER SHOW AT HAMPTON COURT PALACE:
Hampton Court Palace, to the south west of London, is the venue for many events and one of the most popular is the annual Hampton Court Palace Flower Show. Organized by the Royal Horticultural Society, the Hampton Court Flower Show is the largest gardening show in the U.K.
At the Hampton Court Flower Show, visitors can admire the many different gardens created specially for the show, as well as shop for thousands of plants and the latest in garden products and innovations.
Seven Deadly Sins
To make it ever interesting for regular visitors and home gardeners, every summer the flower show features new gardens specially created for the event. Some of the new features across the three zones of Inspire, Escape and Grow include highlights such as Conceptual Gardens which are centred around the theme of the “Seven Deadly Sins”. If you can’t remember what the Seven Deadly Sins are, each of the gardens representing each sin will soon enlighten you. Apart from being inspiring, dramatic and provocative, the designs will be fun.
Central Wildlife Feature – This feature includes a native butterfly house.
Stunning and Education Orchid Display – The Writhlington School has created a orchid display themed around a project they are undertaking in Sikkim, India.
Escape Zone – Head for this zone if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. In this zone are artists and crafts people selling their wares.
Inspire zone – Head for this zone if you’re looking for inspiration on garden concepts, low and high cost gardens and trends in outdoor living.
Hampton Court was the royal residence of many monarchs, most famously, Henry VIII. At Hampton Court Palace you can learn about all of his six wives who came to the palace, most of whom had new and lavish lodgings. The King rebuilt his own rooms at least half a dozen times.
