We were arriving in Florence on Christmas Eve and I thought there may be a slim chance that we could squeeze in some shoppping. I had heard that the Mall was The place to go and so I contacted the center and made enquiries about their opening hours and how to get there. Our hotel was not too far from the station and from the instructions provided, I was optimistic that we might just make it. However, Tony made it abundantly clear that I was out of my brains and that we would probably be stranded out in the sticks, and with no means of getting back to the city by nightfall on Christmas Eve. So, sadly, I didn’t make it to the Mall, but for those who are interested, below are the directions as provided by the center management.

THE MALL is a thirty minute drive from Florence, set in the green Tuscan Hills. The center houses outlets for brand names such as Agnona, Alexander McQueen, Armani Jeans, Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Burberry, Emanuel Ungaro, Ermenegildo Zegna, Fendi, Giorgio Armani, Gucci, Hogan, I Pinco Pallino, La Perla, Loro Piana, Marni, Pucci, Salvatore Ferragamo, Sergio Rossi, Stella McCartney, Tod’s, Valentino, Yohji Yamamoto, Yves Saint Laurent. If you get famished running around all the outlets, there is a cafe restaurant to re-energize.

GETTING TO THE MALL

By Road

From Milan – Take the A1 motorway towards Florence/Rome and take the exit marked Incisa. Take the road on the right towards Pontassieve until reaching Leccio. Continue straight through Leccio and The Mall will be on the left.

From Rome – Take the A1 motorway towards Florence and take the exit marked Incisa. Take the road on the right towards Pontassieve until reaching Leccio. Continue straight through Leccio and The Mall will be on the left.

By Train

Take the train from Florence’s Santa Maria Novella station to Rignano sull’Arno and continue by taxi to Leccio (about five minutes)

Shuttle Bus Service and Public Transport

There is a daily service from Florence to and from The Mall. For information and reservations, contact the information center on Tel: +39 055 865 7775.

If you don’t fancy finding your way out to the Mall, an easier option might be to book a tour with Viator. Their tour takes you to the Prada outlet first and then to the Mall. The cost is reasonable for the 7-hour duration of the tour. For further information on this tour go to our page on Florence Shopping Tour to the Gucci and Prada Outlets

Happy Shopping!
