Bad JET2.com – arrived at the airport only to learn that Jet2 would not permit me to bring 2 small bags as carry-on luggage. I had to check in a 6kg bag, at a cost of 50 Euros!!! Almost half the value of my ticket. Not impressed.

Did you pay a LOT for the “Murano” items you bought in Venice? If not, then why even bother. It is the “beauty” of the glass that attracted you. The artistry. Who cares if artisans in the island of Murano did not make it?

Also, it was the Chinese who taught Venetians the art of “lampwork” — what we call Murano style these days. It is a Chinese tradition taken to Venice by the explorer Marco Polo.

Art is art. Period. As long as you love what you bought and it brings you joy, it IS Murano.

THE WORST AIRPORT in the entire milkyway galaxy is in Beijing International Airport. You know why? how can you consider it an international airport if their staff can’t even speak in English? Their flights is 2 days delayed. Yes they have a good facilities but they don’t know how to entertain their customers properly. For me and my girlfriend this airport is a curse. If i will have a chance to erase one place here in earth i will definitely ERASE this AIRPORT.

Donald, the free train travel for over 66′s was an initiative of Tourism Ireland and was for limited availability in 2010 only. The current rail offer for Senior Citizens covers discounted return rail tickets. See link below:

As you are not travelling till May 2012, it would be worthwhile to keep a lookout on the Discover Ireland website to see if there are any new initiatives for 2012.

Jessu, apologies for the late response – we’ve been on the road travelling around Europe. There are several conditions that you have to meet to be eligible for VAT refund, including a time limit for which your goods must be exported out of the EU – your VAT refund form will stipulate this. If you’ve bought the laptop new and have paid the VAT and are exporting it out of the EU within the stipulated time-limit, I can’t see a problem if you’ve used it.

Last July, one of our readers used a company called http://www.odessainterpreters.com and she said that she had a good experience with them in terms of responsiveness. Their email is odessa.interpreters@gmail.com and the person she corresponded with was a ‘Natacha’. The fare was very reasonable too – USD for the car.
