You can get <img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" vspace=\"3\" align=\"right\" width=\"110\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.travelsignposts.com\/Destination\/d\/13883-2\/DSC_3508.jpg?resize=110%2C85\" hspace=\"3\" alt=\"Wertheim Castle\" height=\"85\" style=\"width: 110px; height: 85px\" title=\"Wertheim Castle\" \/>fantastic views from the massive watch tower which is approximately 25 metres high. The moat also provides an atmospheric backdrop to open-air events such as the Wertheim wine festival.\u00a0 A gunpowder explosion in 1619 plus the ravages of the Thirty Years War turned the castle into a romantic ruin.<\/p>\n<p class=\"giDescription\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" vspace=\"3\" align=\"left\" width=\"85\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.travelsignposts.com\/Destination\/d\/14029-2\/DSC_3487.jpg?resize=85%2C110\" hspace=\"3\" alt=\"Pointed Tower\" height=\"110\" style=\"width: 85px; height: 110px\" title=\"Pointed Tower\" \/>The <strong>Pointed Tower<\/strong> was constructed in 1200. It served as a watchtower and was part of the town&#8217;s fortifications at that time, which consisted of 18 towers and gates. Originally the entrance to the tower was 10 metres off the ground and could only be reached by a ladder.
