The symbolism of life the garden portrays traces the journey of a soul from Oblivion to Eternity and the human experience of its embodiment as it journeys by paths of its own choice through life.\u00a0 This picture to the right shows the pilgrim soul entering the garden through the Gate of Oblivion.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"maintext\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" vspace=\"3\" align=\"right\" width=\"85\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.travelsignposts.com\/Destination\/d\/18035-2\/DSC_0413.jpg?resize=85%2C110\" hspace=\"3\" alt=\"Stone Lantern\" height=\"110\" style=\"width: 85px; height: 110px\" title=\"Stone Lantern\" \/>The stone lantern (picture on the right) symbolises life&#8217;s beginning and it overlooks the Cave of Birth.\u00a0 From the cave the first steps of life leads along the path of childhood.\u00a0\u00a0Typical ambitions toward education, marriage, or a contemplative or care-free life, achievement, happy old age and a gateway to Eternity are portrayed.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"maintext\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" vspace=\"3\" align=\"left\" width=\"110\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.travelsignposts.com\/Destination\/d\/18039-2\/DSC_0415.jpg?resize=110%2C85\" hspace=\"3\" alt=\"Engagement Bridge\" height=\"85\" style=\"width: 110px; height: 85px\" title=\"Engagement Bridge\" \/>This picture to the left symbolises the wanderer meeting his future wife and joins her at the Engagement Bridge.\u00a0 The bridge symbolizes the decisive break in his life.\u00a0 The couple then come together at the symbolic table of prenuptial feast before crossing the marriage bridge.\u00a0 Once across the bridge they come to the Honeymoon Path.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"maintext\">Subsequently, they reach an obstruction which represents a difference in opinion.\u00a0 They part company for a while but are soon re-united.\u00a0 They begin to climb the Hill of Ambition.\u00a0 More <img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" vspace=\"3\" align=\"right\" width=\"85\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.travelsignposts.com\/Destination\/d\/18069-2\/DSC_0431.jpg?resize=85%2C110\" hspace=\"3\" alt=\"Resting place \" height=\"110\" style=\"width: 85px; height: 110px\" title=\"Resting place \" \/>obstacles come in the way and they go through a roller coaster of positive and negative experiences.\u00a0 When they finally conquer the Hill of Ambition they reflect on their joys, successes and failures.\u00a0 At the Well of Wisdom, they pause to wish for enlightenment.\u00a0 They cross the Bridge of Life to the Garden of Peace and Contentment.\u00a0 As old age creeps on, the path is smoother and easier.\u00a0 The traveller seats his wife in the Chair of Old Age and then traces his faltering steps to the Hill of Mourning.\u00a0 His soul is laid to rest, surrounded by weeping trees.\u00a0 His soul passes through the Gate of Eternity&#8230;..and so the Story ends!<\/p>\n<p class=\"maintext\">Eida remained at Tully until 1912. He and his wife and two sons, Minoru and Kaiji, lived at Curragh House, which is now the Racing Apprentice Centre of Education.
