The collection covers a great range including the most varied instruments, ranging from a delicate musical watch right up to the gigantic concert piano-orchestrion.\u00a0 The guides who took us around explained the aspects and history of the instruments and were all very enthusiastic, even though they may have done the presentations a million times before.\u00a0 Many of the visitors were happy to tip them appropriately.<\/p>\n<p>After the Museum visit, we had a little\u00a0free time in R\u00fcdesheim to do\u00a0wine-tasting, walk around to look for souvenirs (the main street is the <em>Drosselgasse<\/em>) or dash around to take snaps of the town which was what Tony did.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" vspace=\"3\" align=\"left\" width=\"110\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.travelsignposts.com\/Destination\/d\/13764-2\/IMG_5591.jpg?resize=110%2C85\" hspace=\"3\" alt=\"Asbach coffee\" height=\"85\" style=\"width: 110px; height: 85px\" title=\"Asbach coffee\" \/>We all then met at the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.travelsignposts.com\/Destination\/v\/Germany\/Rudesheim\/IMG_5585.jpg.html\" title=\"Breuer's Rudesheimer Schloss\"><em>Breuer&#8217;s R\u00fcdesheimer Schloss<\/em> <\/a>where we were treated to a demonstration of how Asbach coffee is made&#8230; and more importantly, you&#8217;ll get to drink it.\u00a0 The making of the coffee was quite a performance and I imagine during the local festivals there&#8217;d be Asbach making competitions.\u00a0 Whilst the drink tasted nice, it was a giant mug, and a bit too early in the day for an alcoholic drink &#8211; for me at least!<img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" vspace=\"3\" align=\"right\" width=\"85\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.travelsignposts.com\/Destination\/d\/13810-2\/IMG_5608.jpg?resize=85%2C110\" hspace=\"3\" alt=\"Statue of Germania\" height=\"110\" style=\"width: 85px; height: 110px\" title=\"Statue of Germania\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After R\u00fcdesheim, we travelled by coach to meet up with the boat again up river, just before Frankfurt. It must be more economical to do it this way, rather than travel up river loaded with passengers.\u00a0 Along the way, a stop\u00a0was made at the <em>Statue of Germania<\/em> which was built to commemorate victory in the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-71.
