In gratitude, Robert the Bruce gifted half of the Stone of Scone <img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" vspace=\"3\" align=\"left\" width=\"85\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.travelsignposts.com\/Destination\/d\/17391-2\/DSC_0590.jpg?resize=85%2C110\" hspace=\"3\" alt=\"Stairways to top of Blarney Castle\" height=\"110\" style=\"width: 85px; height: 110px\" title=\"Stairways to top of Blarney Castle\" \/>to McCarthy\u00a0and these were incorporated into the structure of the castle, which became the Blarney Stone. Blarney Castle&#8217;s history includes\u00a0legends about Cromwell, Queen Elizabeth and other famous figures.\u00a0 You can read the stories during\u00a0the tour of the Castle. To reach the\u00a0top one has to climb some 127 steps.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" vspace=\"3\" align=\"right\" width=\"85\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.travelsignposts.com\/Destination\/d\/17437-2\/DSC_0620.jpg?resize=85%2C110\" hspace=\"3\" alt=\"Witch's Stone\" height=\"110\" style=\"width: 85px; height: 110px\" title=\"Witch's Stone\" \/>The castle grounds offer attractive walks.\u00a0\u00a0Rock Close garden was created in the 18th century.\u00a0 Rock Close is\u00a0worth a visit, but\u00a0explore it during the day.\u00a0 It is said to be\u00a0rather creepy at night and when you walk through it you&#8217;ll understand why.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" vspace=\"3\" align=\"left\" width=\"110\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.travelsignposts.com\/Destination\/d\/17429-2\/DSC_0615.jpg?resize=110%2C85\" hspace=\"3\" alt=\"Sacrificial stone\" height=\"85\" style=\"width: 110px; height: 85px\" title=\"Sacrificial stone\" \/>There are many interesting things to see, including\u00a0several Druid-related structures. Look for the\u00a0sacrificial stone which is situated so that when the first rays of the sun strike it, it is the appointed time <img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" vspace=\"3\" align=\"right\" width=\"85\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.travelsignposts.com\/Destination\/d\/17425-2\/DSC_0613.jpg?resize=85%2C110\" hspace=\"3\" alt=\"Witch's Cave\" height=\"110\" style=\"width: 85px; height: 110px\" title=\"Witch's Cave\" \/>for sacrifice. Other sights to see are the Wishing Steps, the Witch&#8217;s Kitchen, the Head Druid\u2019s Cave, the Witch&#8217;s Stone, the Fairy Glade, and the Druids&#8217; Circle.\u00a0\u00a0In the gardens you will also find a grove of ancient yew trees and limestone rock formations.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" vspace=\"3\" align=\"left\" width=\"110\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.travelsignposts.com\/Destination\/d\/17445-2\/DSC_0625.jpg?resize=110%2C85\" hspace=\"3\" alt=\"Blarney Woollen Mills\" height=\"85\" style=\"width: 110px;
