Tranportation To and From Vienna Airport:

Vienna International Airport (VIE) (Wien-Schwechat) is 18 km southeast of the city. There are several ways of getting to/from the airport including public transportation via bus, the S-Bahn Metropolitan train, City Airport Train (CAT) or taxis, shuttle buses and airport rental cars.

By Bus

The Vienna Airport Lines run airport transfer buses from and to the centre of Vienna (Schwedenplatz/ Morzinplatz) and other destinations.  Travel time is approximately 25 – 35 minutes.

By Train

The City Airport Train (CAT) is an express service from the City Airport Terminal located at Vienna Mitte. Journey time is about 16 minutes.  CAT ticket price is 8€.  For schedule and more information visit www.cityairporttrain.com

Travellers can also use the S-Bahn (Federal Railway System – ÖBB) which runs from/to Wien-Mitte Station and  Wien-Nord Station (Praterstern) to the Airport. Car Rentals

Car rental companies at the Airport include the larger companies like Arac Europcar, AVIS, Budget, Hertz plus a host of other car rentals, limousine and minibus services

Taxis

Taxis are available to the city and can be found north of the Arrivals Hall.

A chauffeur-driven car service is also available from the Arrivals Hall.

By Car

• From downtown Vienna to the airport:  Travel via Erdberger Lände to the motorway A4 (travel time is approximately  25 minutes, depending on the traffic)
• From the southern or eastern districts of Vienna or Lower Austria:  Travel via the city motorway A23 (“Tangente”) and then the motorway A4 (Ostautobahn)
• From the southern or western districts of Vienna:   Travel via the motorways S1 and motorways A4 (travel time from exit A2 (Südautobahn) is  approximately 20 minutes, depending on traffic situation.

Bus Service to Hungary, Slovakia and Czech Republic:

From Vienna Airport there are also bus connections to Bratislava, Budapest and Brno.
