Appartement-Hotel an der Riemergasse is an aparthotel in Vienna’s 1st District:

As the name suggests, Appartement-Hotel an der Riemergasse is a 4-star serviced apartment in Vienna’s 1st District. The Riemergasse is housed in a stylishly restored art nouveau building. The art deco lift is classy and we enjoyed riding in it.

Riemergasse Location

We couldn’t be more pleased with the central location of the apartment. It is about three minutes’ walk from St. Stephen’s Cathedral and the Kärntner Straße shopping street. The Stubentor underground station is a short walk from the apartment. You can also catch the underground at Stephanplatz. From these two stations it’s easy to get around Vienna for sightseeing. We also managed to make a day trip to Bratislava during our stay.

Accommodation

Appartement Riemergasse offers guests a choice of Studio, Family Studio, Comfort Suite or Grand Suite. Our 30 m² Studio apartment no. 530 was small but very functional. It had views of St Stephen’s Cathedral spire.

The kitchenette allowed us to have breakfast in the room and light meals if we wanted to dine in. There was a coffee machine and they were exceptionally generous with the Nespresso coffee pods. They provided a range of different intensity coffee pods. When we asked for more of the stronger coffee pods, they filled our jar full of ristretto coffee.

Dining

There are no dining facilities in the apartment block, but that is not a problem. Riemergasse and the surrounding streets are full of cafés and restaurants. There are also three supermarkets in the vicinity if you need to stock up on food and drinks.

What we liked

– Great location
– Friendly staff and check-in was efficient
– Wi-Fi was excellent
– Minibar, kitchenette with refrigerator
– Espresso machine and generous supply of coffee pods – triple plus for this!
– Classy lift

What we weren’t fond of

– Nothing really

Getting there

By Train – Getting to the Appartement-Hotel Riemergasse from Vienna’s Schwechat Airport was easy, even with our huge cases. We took the very efficient City Airport Train (CAT) to “Wien Mitte”. From there we took the U3 for just one stop to “Stubentor”. Look for trains in the direction of Ottakring.

Private Transfer – If you don’t want to bother with public transport, you can book a private transfer is another option.

Happy to Stay at Appartement Riemergasse again

Sometimes you come across nice accommodation that you’d like to keep secret for fear that they might become too popular – the Appartement-Hotel an der Riemergasse is one of them. We would happily stay here again.
