Spain Summer Festivals and Events

In Spain, music, dance, drama and film festivals are held in many of the major cities throughout the year.

In summer, the entertainment scene hots up and in July in particular, there are several major music and theatre festivals around the country.

Whether it’s the Mozart Festival in A Coruña, Classical Theatre Festival in Merida’s Roman theatre or the Guitar Festival in Cordoba or the International Jazz Festivals in Vitoria and San Sebastian, there’s a summer festival just around the corner.

The various theatres, auditoriums and opera houses in the country are also busy with cultural events.  See below for a range of what’s on in some of Spain’s entertainment capitals:

Barcelona
Opera and flamenco, the Royal Ballet from Covent Garden or Spanish guitar music in beautiful locations in Barcelona are just some of the events that can be enjoyed in the capital of Catalonia.

Madrid
Enjoy Verdi’s Simon Boccanegra at the Teatro Real.

Seville
At the Auditorio Álvarez Quintero, you can learn about the origins of Flamenco and of the different styles, take a brief practical lesson in flamenco dancing and then finally sit back and enjoy a Pure Flamenco Show, while sipping a glass of sherry.

To the people that want to travel to Spain and especially Andalucía I give you a good tip. There is a great hostel where you can crash! In the White Nest Hostel in Granada, recently opened, you can find a young international group of like minded people, in fresh vibrant surroundings. You will have a great time to remember your entire life…..Based at the foot of the Alambra, the area is both central and historical. I recommend you to stay in Hostels Granada and experience the life of Albayzin, Sacromonte and the heart of Granada itself.
