Spitalfields Music – What's on at the Summer Festival – London

The Spitalfields Music Summer Festival is returning soon.  Below are some of the performances on at the Shoreditch Church in London.

Rumpelstiltskin – The Birmingham Contemporary Music Group and six dancers will perform David Sawer’s “Rumpelstiltskin” at the Shoreditch Church in London.

Bach & Kodály – Thomas Gould (violin) and Philip Higham (cello) will perform music of Johann Sebastian Bach and Zoltán Kodály at London’s Shoreditch Church.

Goldberg Variations – Thomas Gould (violin), Philip Higham (cello) and Gary Pomeroy (viola), three young and talented musicians in a performance of J S Bach’s Goldberg Variations, arranged by Dmitry Sitkovetsky in 1985 to mark the 300th anniversary of Bach’s birth.

Milos Karadaglic, Classical Guitar – Milos Karadaglic makes his Spitalfields Summer Festival solo debut with a programme featuring works from four different centuries at London’s Shoreditch Church.

Kathryn Tickell Band – Kathryn Tickell is the foremost exponent of the Northumbrian pipes, and this distinctive quartet provides a wonderful setting for her music, matching virtuosity with sheer musicality and creativity.

Melvyn Tan, Piano – A solo performance of early 20th-century and contemporary works, described by Melvyn Tan as a reflection on Spitalfields itself.

William Howard, Piano – William Howard returns to Spitalfields offering a programme framed by one of Mozart’s most deeply personal pieces and Schubert’s most groundbreaking and virtuosic piano work. These contrast with works from two British composers, each of whom has a colourful and distinctive musical language.
