The Castle of Mey is situated on the north coast of Caithness and is the most northerly inhabited castle on the British mainland. The Queen Mother bought it in 1952 when it was in a rundown state. The Castle Mey that we see today is the work of the Queen Mother. She renovated the castle and created the beautiful gardens. This was the Queen Mother's favourite castle in Scotland and she spent many happy summers here. Read more about The Castle and Gardens of Mey HERE.
