Statue of the oldest First World War Turkish veteran and his great-great-granddaughter
The Turkish believe that if you live to see your great-great-grandchild then you can be sure of going straight to heaven. When he was 109 years old this veteran was invited to the Turkish memorial and cemetery to unveil this statue of himself. He died the following year at 110 years old.
