Restaurants in Venice

It's important to check that the restaurant at which you're interested in eating is open! Restaurants in Venice do not all close on a Monday, rest days vary, and not all open at night. Booking is highly advisable, especially when you want an outside table. And not all restaurants (especially the smaller ones) take credit cards.

Apart from my own favourites, the restaurants linked to here mainly come from three sources:

• Restaurants recommended by MeetingVenice.it. These links all go to pages with the name and address of the restaurant, a few photos, and a description (not a review) that usually includes its location, history and specialities. The site is italian, but this is the English version.
• I've also included some restaurants reviewed on restaurantsOMH.com ("independently reviewing restaurants in London, Rome, Venice") which are written by people who've dined at them - very useful. I urge you to check out the reviews because we found them invaluable when we were in Venice.
• Reviews from epicurious.com, which although mainly a recipe and cooking site also includes useful restaurant reviews.
