Forside / France / Cahors | France 56
Cahors has the Lot, a river which encircles this 2,000 year old town, providing a natural defence for Cahors. The town's landmark monument is its 14th century fortified Pont Valentre. With seven pointed arches and three towers spanning the river Lot, it is a breathtaking sight and is believed to be one of the most photographed monuments in France.
We were fortunate to be here for its famous Saturday market. Cahors is famous for truffles, confit of duck and goose, goat's cheese and its dark heady wine.
