The Jardin des Tuileries was created by Catherine de Medici as the garden of the Tuileries Palace in 1564. Nowadays it is a public garden located between the Louvre Museum and the Place de la Concorde. The Musee de l'Orangerie with Monet's "Waterlilies" is at the west end, and the garden is noted for its outstanding display of sculpture from the 18th century to the present day.
