Slow progress over bridge in Lake District

People make your journey. We were walking up to Skiddaw – I think – (this was in 1985) and we met two walkers heading in the same direction. It was a cold wet day so we shared some jokes and took some pictures of our rather slow progress up the valley.

It’s amazing how meeting up with other walkers can lighten your day. We were on a three day walk, while they were locals out for a day’s walk in the rain. We shared a quick lunch and then they headed off back home while we made our way over the high fells in the midst of a storm. Slow progress against the fierce winds and rain.

We did make it to our B&B and managed to warm and dry out near a blazing open fire. Great day out.
