Enjoy Normandy Christmas Markets and Events in Historical Locations:

Like many of France’s beautiful towns and villages, the Normandy region has many Christmas markets and events in historical locations.
Below are some places where you can taste French Christmas treats, do some pre-Christmas shopping and enjoy Christmas events to get you into the festive spirit.
Normandy Christmas Markets
Caen Christmas Market, Calvados (Dec 1 – Dec 31, 2019)
Caen’s traditional Marché de Noel at the Place Saint-Sauveur includes over 60 stands selling an outstanding range of Christmas goodies and handicrafts. This cosmopolitan market welcomes sellers from around the world with products such as nativity figurines, foie gras, Christmas desserts, pain d’épices, traditional waffles and much more. Santa will be at the House of Santa Claus each day up till December 23 to meet with the little ones.
Falaise Christmas Market, Calvados (Dec 1 – 31, 2019)
Falaise is enchanting in December! Its Marché Artisanal de Noel festivities takes place in December with craft stalls, Christmas concerts, activities and street entertainment and fireworks display. The Craft market takes place at the Place Belle Croix and in the streets throughout town.
Liseux Christmas Market, Calvados – (Dec 7 – 8, 2019)
Lisieux’s traditional Christmas market takes place on the Place Francois Mitterand with more than seventy stands selling gifts, food and other Christmas specialities. Don’t miss the choral singing and the arrival of Father Christmas himself.
Saint-Pierre-sur-dives Christmas Market, Calvados (Dec 7 – 8, 2019)
This covered Christmas Market with 150 stalls takes place under France’s biggest medieval hall. This is actually an all year round market, but at Christmas time it is magical, with stallholders offering special festive fare. A variety of entertainment will set the festive mood for shoppers.
Le Havre Christmas Market, Seine-Maritime (Dec 1 – 24, 2019)
30 wooden chalets will take over Place Perret for Le Havre’s Christmas market whilst the Father Christmas’ village and workshop can be found on the Place de l’Hôtel de Ville. To complete the Christmas magic there is a giant white street parade and the ferris wheel is back as well. From its top height of 45 meters, you can get a panoramic view of the city and its Christmas lights.
Rouen Christmas Market and Christmas Lights (Nov 27, 2019 – Dec 29, 2019)
Enjoy the traditional Christmas market in Rouen with over fifty chalets set on the Cathedral square, with street entertainment and Santa Claus in action. If you’re an ice-skating fan, the outdoor rink on Place de l’Hotel de ville is not to be missed!
Honfleur Christmas Market and Christmas Lights (Dec 18 – Jan 5, 2020)
Honfleur’s Christmas Market is held at the picturesque Vieux Bassin. The small stalls sell regional produce, artisan goods and food.

Mont Saint Michel Christmas Market and Illuminations (Dec 7 – 29, 2019)
For the first time, a Christmas market will operate at the entrance to Mont Saint Michel, Normandy’s most iconic landmark. Enjoy shopping at the 40 stalls and see the magical Mont Saint-Michel light up during its festive Illuminations. Situated in the middle of a bay, Mont Saint-Michel welcomes nearly three and a half million people every year. The Christmas lights come on from around 5:30 pm till midnight every evening.
