An Afternoon Tea at The Langham London to Commemorate the Royal Wedding:

Tea in the Palm Court / VisitBritain

Haven’t received your invitation to the Royal Wedding yet?  Not to worry, all is not lost, you can still join in the celebrations of HRH Prince William to Kate Middleton in a special afternoon tea at The Langham, London.

Throughout the month of April, The Langham is offering Tea Royale, a special celebratory afternoon tea to commemorate the Royal Wedding .   The Langham’s famous Afternoon Tea at the Palm Court was awarded Best London Afternoon Tea 2010 by the Tea Guild – an event that’s pretty much like the ‘Oscars’ of the tea world.

For Tea Royale, the Langham’s Executive Pastry Chef Cherish Finden has created special savouries and pastries.   Finger sandwiches will include fillings of lobster (yum!) and cucumber with fennel pollen, Scottish salmon poached in pink Champagne with green peppercorns and Castle of Mey beef sirloin with horseradish.

The special pastries, scones and desserts will be Westminster Abbey chocolate cake, apricot and raspberry Royal Crown, Royal Champagne jelly and warm wild lavender and honey scones with Devonshire clotted cream and strawberry preserve.

Tea Royale costs £51.50 per person and includes a glass of Champagne Laurent-Perrier NV to toast the couple.

The Langham London has a long connection with the British Royal family. The hotel was opened in 1865 by Prince William’s ancestor, HRH The Prince of Wales, later HM King Edward VII. The Langham was Europe’s first ‘Grand Hotel’.

Afternoon tea at the Langham London has been a tradition since 1865, gaining it the reputation as being the birthplace of the afternoon tea tradition.
