We came across the Southbank Book Market on our London Walk and were impressed by the sheer size of this outdoor second hand book market. London is a book lover’s heaven and this Riverside Walk Book Market has got to be one of London’s best kept book shopping secrets for the visitor.

The South Bank Book Market is located under the Waterloo Bridge, next to the National Film Theatre. This market has been running for years and it is believed to be the only established second hand and antique/vintage book market is the south of England.

The market consists of rows and rows of tables with neatly stacked second hand fiction and non-fiction books, as well as vintage books, for sale.

So if you’re looking for bargain books or something to read for your holidays, there are always plenty of deals to be found here.  The riverside location is great as well.

South Bank Book Market is open daily till around 7:00 pm and can be found under Waterloo Bridge in front of BFI Southbank. The nearest Tubes are: Waterloo Station (0.3 km) or Westminster Tube Station (0.5 km)
