Airport Transportation at Lisbon International Airport:

Lisbon Airport - Meeting Point

Lisbon International Airport is Portugal’s busiest airport and is the main point of entry for travellers arriving in Portugal. The modern airport is approximately 7 km from the city centre and is well served by many airport transfer options.

By Bus

The airport is along the route of a number of the local Carris bus services with the airport stop located mid-journey for these routes. The ticket costs just 1.35€ and may be purchased from the driver as you board the bus.

No. 5   – Estação do Oriente – Airport – Areeiro
No. 22 – Portela – Airport  –  Marquês de Pombal
No. 44 – Moscavide – Airport – Cais do Sodré
No. 45 – Prior Velho – Airport – Cais do Sodré
No. 83 – Portela – Airport – Amoreiras

By Airport Shuttles

Carris also operates the following airport shuttles which provides a faster transfer than the local bus services:

Aerobus (Carris No.91) – makes the run between Lisbon Airport and the city centre. The buses run every 20 minutes with the service commencing at 07:45 and ending at 20:15. Tickets may be purchased from the driver as you board the bus. The ticket costs 3.50€ and is valid for all-day travel.

Aeroshuttle (Carris No.96) – This daily service runs every 30 minutes between 07:00 and 23:00. The Aeroshuttle connects Gare Oriente – Airport – Entrecampos – Sete Rios – Praça de Espanha. Tickets cost 3.50€ and can be purchased on board and also from the Tourism Office at the Arrivals Hall (public area).

ShuttleDirect – If you’re travelling with children or sports equipment or you would like to be delivered directly to your hotel, you may prefer to book a private airport transfer with Shuttle Direct.

By Lisbon Metro

Although there is no direct connection to the airport, the nearest metro stations are 15 minutes away by bus (Gare do Oriente or Areeiro Stations).

By Taxi

There are two taxi stands within the airport perimeter, one at arrivals and the other at departures. Before you jump into a cab, it’s worthwhile stopping at the very bright Tourism Information Counter in the airport’s Arrivals Hall to get information about correct taxi fares and any additional charges. You can also purchase a Taxi Voucher from the Tourist Information Counter.

Rental Cars

The following car rental agencies have counters located in the atrium of the arrivals hall.

  • AA Castanheira/ Budget (+351) 219 942 402

By Car

There are three car parks at the airport and you can pre-book you car parking space. P1 and P2 are short-term car parks with direct access to the terminal. P1 is located near Departures and P2 is next to Arrivals. P3 is a long-term outdoor car park. The short- and long-term car parks are located to the right of the terminal at the entrance to the airport. A free airport bus shuttle service links the car parks and the terminals.
