Airport Transfers: Transportation From/To Bilbao Airport:

Airport Transfers - Bilbao Airport

Bilbao Airport Transfers

Bilbao Airport is located 9.6 km (6 miles) northwest of Bilbao city centre. It is the Basque Country and northern Spain’s most important airport with over 4.5 million passengers going through this airport.

Flights to Bilbao

Air France, Brussels Airlines, Iberia, Lufthansa and TAP Portugal are some of the regular airlines with Bilbao flights. Air Berlin, Air Nostrum, EasyJet and Vueling are some of the budget airlines with flights to Bilbao. You can fly to Bilbao from international destinations such as Amsterdam, Brussels, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Geneva, London, Manchester, Munich, etc.

Bilbao Airport Transfers

Bilbao Airport is well connected to other cities in the north of Spain. The A-8 links Bilbao to Santander to the west and to San Sebastián, Irún and France, to the east. The AP-68 links to Vitoria, Logroño, Zaragoza, Barcelona, Burgos and Madrid.

By Bus –

  • BizkaiBus service A3247 connects Bilbao Airport to Plaza Moyua and Gran Vía 79(central Bilbao). The buses depart from outside the main terminal every half hour from 06:15 to midnight. The journey takes around 20 minutes and costs €1.50. BizkaiBus is the local bus service for the Biscay province. See Bizkaibus website for scedules and fares.
  • PESA’s Lurraldebus connects Bilbao Airport with Plaza de Pio XII in Donostia-San Sebastian. This daily service departs hourly and operates from 07:45 to 23:45. Journey time is about 1 hour 15 minutes. For schedule and fares see PESA’s website.
  • A new PESA service now links the Bilbao Airport with Arrasate – Bergara – Eibar.

By Train – There is presently no rail link from Bilbao Airport, but the plan is to build a train connection between the Airport and Bilbao city.

Car Hire – AVIS, Europcar, Hertz, National and Sixt operate at Bilbao Airport.

By Taxis – Taxi fares from the airport to and from the centre of town cost approximately €24 and journey time is about 15 minutes.

Bilbao Airport Hotels

Bilbao Airport is only 9 km from the city centre, however if you want a hotel that is really close to the airport, the Holiday Inn Express Bilbao is only 2 minutes drive from the airport. The hotel offers a free shuttle. Other hotels about 4 km away include the eye-catching Hesperia Bilbao, the Best Western Bilbao or the stylish Silken Gran Hotel Domine Bilbao. For the complete list of Bilbao hotels, see Here.
