Granada Airport: Federico Garcia Lorca Granada-Jaén Airport (GRX)

Federico Garcia Lorca Airport is Commonly Referred to as Granada Airport:

Granada Airport Transfer

Named after the poet Federico Garcia Lorca, Granada Airport services the province of Granada. Federico García Lorca Granada-Jaen Airport is located in the region of La Vega del Genil,  about 17 km west of Granada and 106 km south of Jaén.

Granada Airport’s traffic is mostly from domestic Spanish flights although there are seasonal international services to Paris and Rome.

Flights to Granada

Airlines that fly to Granada Airport include Iberia, Spanair, Ryanair, Transavia, Air Europe, Air Nostrum, Iberword, Servisair and Vueling Airlines.  Most of the flights are to and from Madrid and Barcelona and include Palma de Mallorca.

Airport Transfers

Granada Airport is easily reachable by bus, taxi and road.

By Bus

Airport-Granada:

Autocares Jose Gonzalez operates the bus service linking Granada Airport to Granada city. A bus departs for Granada city centre after the arrival of a flight. The bus stop is in the Arrivals area. The bus route is:  Airport – Bus Station – La Caleta – Jardines del Triunfo – Gran Vía – Cathedral – Puerta Real – Palacio de Congresos.

Airport-Jaén:

Alsina Graells Sur operates daily services between Jaén and Granada Airport. The bus stop is in the Arrivals area. To find out bus timetables and stops, consult the Asina Graelis website or Tel: 902 422 242.

By Taxi

The taxi rank is in the Arrivals area. Approximate fares from Granada Airport are:  Granada (25 Euro); Alhambra ( 28 Euro); Albayzín (28 Euro);  Sierra Nevada ( 80 Euro – if it is snowing, it will cost 10 Euro more).  Tel: 606 052 925.

Private Transfers

If you don’t like the hassles of public buses or taxis, you can pre-arrange your own airport transfer with either of Viator or Shuttle Direct.

Shuttle Direct – Shuttle Direct is another airport transfer company with whom you can pre-book your transfer from Granada Airport.

By Car

  • From Granada, take the A-92 motorway in the direction of Seville.
  • From Jaén, take the N-44 to Granada, and then the A-92 in the direction of Seville.

The car park at Federico García Lorca Granada-Jaén Airport is conveniently located a few metres from the terminal. It takes just one minute to reach it.

Granada Airport Hotels

El Soto de Roma is about 8 minutes from Granada Airport.  Capitulaciones and Casa del Trigo are also within 5km of Federico Garcia Lorca.  For all Granada hotels near the Airport see HERE.
