Hotel Review: M.A Puerta de los Aljibes Hotel in Granada:
For our overnight stop in Granada we stayed at the M.A Puerta de los Aljibes, a modern hotel on Avenida de Pulianas which is just outside of central Granada.
A Modern Design Granada Hotel
Puerta de los Aljibes is a design hotel with very pleasant interior decoration. Our room was quite narrow but deep, so there was enough space to spread out. The room has a large flat-screen television, the shower worked well and the bed is comfortable. There is a pool on the roof, which we didn’t have time to use. The hotel is close to the University of Granada so the train and bus stations are nearby. The bullring is close by as well.
What We Liked About Our Granada Accommodation:
Internet is free in the room. The interior decoration gives the place a bright and welcoming feel.
What We Weren’t Keen On
We arrived after 5:00 p.m. and wanted to get to the Capilla Real before it closed at 7 p.m. Although the reception staff told us that it was a 20-minute walk, it was actually more like a 25-minute fast walk each way.
Dinner for us was a buffet dinner which was okay, but like most hotel buffets it is nothing to rave about.
Whilst the Puerta de los Aljibes is a very pleasant and comfortable modern hotel, for our short stay in Granada we would have preferred to be closer to the Old Town so as to have a little more time exploring it and perhaps go out in the evening. There are many hotels close by, such as the Hesperia Granada, which is 200 metres from Granada Cathedral, or the Suites Gran Via 44 on Gran Via de Colon. Hotels in Granada’s Albaycín district which is the medieval Moorish Quarter and a UNESCO World Heritage Site would have been preferable as well. For all Granada hotels see HERE.Address:
