Kyiv’s World Heritage Lavra, or Monastery of the Caves or Kiev Pechersk Lavra, is the city’s most extensive and amazing sightseeing attraction. The Lavra contains numerous architectural monuments, ranging from bell-towers and cathedrals to underground cave systems and strong stone fortification walls. To get an adequate appreciation of the complex will require at least a half day visit.

Kiev or Kyiv is one of the oldest cities in Eastern Europe and hence earns itself the title “Mother of Cities”. Set on the right bank of the Dnieper River (travelling down river), Kiev has preserved its charm over the centuries and its art and architecture are world treasures.
