EASTER CONCERTS IN BERLIN – AN IMPORTANT ELEMENT OF EASTER FESTIVITIES IN BERLIN:

Easter Concerts in Berlin

Easter in Berlin

Easter is a popular holiday period in Germany and the Easter festivities are still celebrated in the traditional way by many Germans. Easter markets, Easter bonfires, Easter brunches and Easter services all form a part of the Easter celebrations in Germany.

Music is another important element of the Easter festivities and if you are in Berlin, there is a huge repertoire of Easter concerts that you can enjoy.

Below are some of the Berlin Easter concerts on offer:

Berliner Dom – Gottfried August Homilius’ St Mark Passion

Once again, and just in time for Easter, the Berlin Cathedral Choir brings to life the biblical Passion with great expressive power. Under the direction of Adrian Büttemeier, and  accompanied by the baroque orchestra Aris & Aulis, you’ll be taken on the rediscovery of this literally magnificent music.

Konzerthaus Berlin – Good Friday Concert

The third act of Richard Wagner’s ‘Parsifal’ is set on a Good Friday. According to the composer, the opera was intended to have a ‘rapturous effect on the mind’. But even those who have no connection to Christian mysticism and the work’s artistically exaggerated message of redemption can enjoy two wonderful instrumental pieces by the opera composer, the ‘Prelude’ and the ‘Good Friday Magic’. The concert also features Sofia Gubaidulina’s ‘Offertorium,’

Berliner Dom – Bach’s Easter Oratorio

On Easter Sunday in Berlin, enjoy the extraordinary atmosphere of Berliner Dom, while listening to wonderful music by Bach. The Collegium Vocale Berlin and Concerto Brandenburg will perform under the baton of Thomas Hennig.

Easter at the Philharmonie Berlin – International Musical Gala

Experience the most famous songs and melodies from world‐famous musicals such as ‘Les Misérables’, ‘West Side Story’, ‘Kiss me, Kate’, ‘Mary Poppins’, ‘Miss Saigon’, ‘Phantom of the Opera’ and ‘Dance of the Vampires’, interpreted by the young, award‐winning musical stars Jeannine Michèle Wacker and Michael Heller.

Easter at the Philharmonie Berlin – The Magic of Italian Opera

Spend Easter afternoon at Berlin’s world-famous Philharmonie and enjoy some great opera music. The magic of Italian opera at will be created by young Italian singers from the opera studio of the world‐famous Teatro alla Scala in Milan and prize‐winners of the ‘Virtuoso & Belcanto’ competition in Lucca, Italy.
