BOLOGNA FESTIVAL – AN ANNUAL CLASSICAL MUSIC FESTIVAL IN BOLOGNA:

Bologna Festival

Bologna hosts quite a number of music festivals throughout the year and one of its significant  classical music festivals is the Bologna Festival. This Festival offers a selection of concerts that highlight the diversity of classical music in this city and the depth of the conductors, artists and ensembles.

The Festival is held at the Teatro Manzoni Auditorium on Via de Monari 1/2, a couple of blocks north from the Piazza Maggiore, Bologna’s main square, as well as at the Oratory of S. Filippo Neri.

Bologna Festival Concerts

Below are some of the concerts that can be booked through Classictic:

Quartetto Werther: Bologna Festival

This young talented quartet perform music by Fauré and Schumann at Bologna’s world-renowned Oratorio San Filippo Neri.

Martha Argerich, Quartetto Quiroga: Bologna Festival

Martha Argerich and the Quartetto Quiroga Orchestra perform works by Beethoven, Bach and Schumann at the Teatro Manzoni.
This one-performance only concert is on April 14, 2019.

Grigory Sokolov: Bologna Festival

World-class Russian pianist, Grigory Sokolov, performs at Bologna’s equally famous Teatro Manzoni.  This highly anticipated concert features music by Beethoven and Brahms. This one-performance only concert is on May 2, 2019.

Budapest Festival Orchestra: Bologna Festival

The Budapest Festival Orchestra perform a selection of works by Mozart, Schubert and Rossini at Teatro Manzoni. Led by Ivan Fischer, one of the world’s most sought-after conductors, this concert also features Emanuel Ax on piano.

Chamber Orchestra of Europe: Bologna Festival

Led by Antonio Pappano (conductor), the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, and violinist Janine Jansen, perform works by Dvořák, Wagner and Szymanowski at Bologna’s treasured and world-renowned Teatro Manzoni. The Chamber Orchestra is made of up 50 musicians from 15 countries.
This one-performance only concert is on May 30, 2019.
