Festival dell’Arena di Verona
(Season: June-Sept 2019)
The spectacular Arena di Verona is home to the annual Verona Arena Festival. Famous operas like Carmen, Aida, Turandot, Nabucco and Barber of Seville are some of the offerings at the Festival.
- The 2019 summer Verona Festival begins with Verdi’s La Traviata directed by Franco Zeffirelli.
- This is followed by Aida, the queen of operas at the Verona Arena. Directed by Gianfranco de Bosio, there are 15 performances of Aida being offered.
- Carmen, directed by Hugo de Ana. There will be only one performance of this popular Bizet opera, with Placido Domingo as Conductor.
- Verdi’s Il Trovatore performances begins on July 20. Directed by Franco Zeffirelli, this opera is a staple of the standard operatic repertoire.
- Finally, from August 10 to September 6, 2019, Puccini’s Tosca takes centre stage.

Festival Puccini – Torre del Lago, Lucca

As a tribute to the great maestro, the annual Festival Puccini celebrates his great heroines, Turandot, Tosca, Madama Butterfly, etc.

Terme di Caracalla Festival – Rome
(Season: July-August 2019)
The city’s second largest Roman public baths, the Baths of Caracalla, is a popular tourist attraction. It becomes the backdrop for an open air stage during the summer Opera di Roma festival. This marvellous archaeological site has 8,000 seats and this year features Aida and La Traviata, as well as three ballets.
