Restaurants in Santa Croce, Venice:
It’s important to check that the restaurant at which you’re interested in eating is open! Restaurants in Venice do not all close on a Monday, rest days vary, and not all open at night. Booking is highly advisable, especially when you want an outside table. And not all restaurants (especially the smaller ones) take credit cards.
Pizza – Restaurant Ae Oche
Santa Croce, 1552/A
For more than twenty years it’s been a trendy and informal place to eat with a choice of 90 varieties of pizza
Campiello del Piovani, Santa Croce, 1459
Young, informal atmosphere, more a pizzeria or simple cicheteria(a kind of traditional Venetian pub).
Trattoria al Ponte
Ponte del Megio (Calle Larga), Santa Croce 1666
Basic in its cooking, but the quality is still very high. A picturesque spot right by the bridge with a few outdoor tables.
Ponte del Megio, Santa Croce 1762
A tiny restaurant with "some of the most imaginative cooking to be found in Venice". Pleasant inside room and a few outside tables at the foot of the bridge. Small range of fish and meat dishes but the star turn is "the innovative way it treats vegetables".
